The Just Breathe Technique for addictionsAddictions are a challenging pattern to overcome.  Most people are able to change their mental state during treatment programs with daily support and living though a 30 day program to create a new habit. 

 

Through my years of work as a Fitness Trainer and a Breathing Coach, I have become aware that at the root of most traumas is a corresponding change and limitation in breathing pattern.  Many addictions stem from the body being physiologically locked into this pattern which tells the brain to crave the same substance over and over to numb the feeling of pain. In fact taking the substance is often the only thing that numbs the pain enough for you to feel joy or even normal. When you learn to breathe properly and fully again you are changing that physiological pattern and thus clearing your addiction and its cravings from the inside out. 

 

In order for any change to be effective it is highly beneficial to clear the root trauma which caused the addiction at an energetic or cellular level. This can effectively and simply be done by learning to move your breath more fully through your whole body.  Few if any programs teach you that your breathing pattern can directly affect
your addiction.  If you truly want to move through your addiction and release its hold over you, it is vital to learn to breathe more mindfully into your whole body.
